Thrift Store Finds

You all know by now how much I LOVE thrifting...finding anything at a bargain price is a SCORE for me!  Decorating on a budget can be tough, but I find thrifting the best way to find things for my home that don't break the bank.

Last week I found a couple of great things while out on my own.

This enamel jug for $3.99 that now houses my kitchen utensils by the stove.

This letter sorter.

I sprayed it black and am using it as a mini command center in the kitchen.

I also picked up a cute shelf for $5.99.  It's going to be used in the kitchen renovation which will be starting soon!  Don't you just love the scrolled brackets!

This week I found this great green glass leaf dish.

...and this wine crate from a local winery for $6.99.

I have been wanting this organizer for my make-up, but I didn't want to pay the $99 for it

I had McG take out the diagonal wood supports that hold the wine bottles and turn them up and down to create an organizer for my make-up.

I used some containers I had around the house for now, but I am on the look out for some wicker baskets or metal containers to get the look.

I wanted to update you on that chair that wicker chair that I rescued from the side of the road a few weeks ago.  Here's the before...

...and here it is now!  I gave it a fresh coat of paint and then McG rebuilt the springs and recovered it.
It now has a home in the spare bedroom.  Total cost for this transformation was $10 for the spray paint.  The fabric I had here already.

I'd love to see what you've thrifted...please send me a comment or a link so I can check it out!

Thrift Score Thursday...the Saturday Edition!

OK lovelies...I scored some great things this week that I'd like to share with you!

My BFF and I headed out Thursday morning for a day of thrifting out in Leamington Ontario...it's our preferred area of choice because we always seem to find some great deals out there.

First up is this great light up pumpkin tower that I found at the Value Village for $4.99.  I won't be putting it out until October but it will be a great addition to my fall front porch display.

Next are these two beautifully filled urns that I purchased for $7.99 each.

They will be a beautiful part of my Christmas holiday display.  Don't you just LOVE the colour and those pheasant feathers!

I'm thinking of adding a bit of teal blue to them as well.

I also found this great amber vase for $1.00 at the MCC Thrift store.

This last find was a FREEBIE that we picked up on the side of the road!!

She is STURDY and when she's cleaned up and given some new paint, she will be a great addition to the covered porch area in the backyard or she might even come inside as a chair for the spare bedroom.  I think Sloan would LOVE a new place to curl up for a nap and this might just be it!

That's it for this week's finds.  I'd love to see what you thrifted or picked up on the side of the road this week...be sure and share it with me!!

Thrifty Find...

I LOVE shopping at thrift stores, as I know many of you do!

Last week I found this pillow at a local Goodwill store.

It was a steal at only $3.00 and it really brightens up the corner in the family room.

I am always hesitant with stuff like this when buying secondhand.
I brought it home and sprayed it with sanitizer and popped it in the dryer for a little bit.

I am enjoying the pattern and brightness it brings to the room.

Have you found any thrifty items lately?
I'd LOVE to hear from you!

Thrifty Finds

Welcome to another Thrifty Finds post!

This weekend McG had a golf tournament for work, so I had the day to myself!  With a pocket full of money and a long list of yard sales to hit, I ventured out after driving our son to work.

I was very lucky this week, hitting a great neighbourhood sale first.  I love it when there are a large number of houses all in the same block with stuff to sell!

First up is a great down filled pillow in cream and navy and a large Tupperware bowl that was in mint condition - both just $2 each. Sloan felt the need to check out my finds too and photo-bomb my shot!

Next up - a fall pumpkin decor item (25 cents) and a notepad gift set ($3).

I picked up an artificial Christmas Tree and a cooler for McG - both just $5.  He's using artificial Christmas trees this year to cover his duck blind.  They were asking $10 for the tree but they gave it to me for $5!

Next a garden ornament and a white wire planter - each $2.

The planter looks lovely on my dining room table!

If you follow on Facebook, you got a sneak peek at this print earlier today - just $2.

And last, but not least, this wreath for $3.  It found an immediate home on the inside of my front door!

It was a great week for thrifty finds in my neck of the woods...did you get some thrifty finds this week??

I'd love to hear from you!

Thrifty Finds...

Today's adventures involved some errands and a trip to the local thrift store.  Here's what I found...

All for the low, low price of $3.37!!!

I was looking for a new lamp for my new office - and found this lovely black one for just $1.99.

As you may or may not know, the 2013 Pantone colour of the year is Emerald Green...and while I love green, I am not going to be painting any rooms Emerald Green any time soon...however, I do love green as an accent colour and these four little gems all together were just $0.99 - a STEAL to add a little colour to a vignette or room...I will stash them away for now - possibly bringing them out for a spring arrangement on my dining table soon.

I added a small wicker shade to my lamp that I purchased on a prior thrift store trip for just $2.00.
The finished lamp looks lovely next to my desk in my new office space...and you can't beat the price!

Have you been thrift shopping lately?  I love it when I find exactly what I'm looking for.  Thank you Community Thrift Store!
