Fall Front Porch

Last week I gave my Facebook followers a sneak peek of my fall front porch decor.

Decorating for fall comes a little later around here....usually around the first of October.  Doing it in September just feels like we are trying to rush the seasons.  I for one do not like winter, so rushing fall in seems counter productive to me!

I switched out the flag to this new "Autumn" one...

...and added some orange and purple mini lights.

These huge Mums on either side of the stairs were just $20 each.  McG and I found them one Sunday on a drive in the county.

A few faux gourds and some scarecrows round out the display.

I am really loving how the warm fall colours seem to pop off the dark charcoal colour of the house.  It makes me want to snuggle up with a hot cup of cocoa and watch the world go by!

Thanks for visiting!

Fall Front Yard Tour 2013

The chilly fall weather is here this morning in Ontario.
We enjoyed a lovely three-day weekend to celebrate our Thanksgiving.
Since October is now officially half over, I thought I would share my fall/Halloween outdoor decor.

It's not scary by any means, but what I feel is just the right mix of fall and Halloween decorating for our family.

We've had these wooden characters for sometime now...I love to include them every year.

This pumpkin planter is one of my favourites...just a pail screwed to a 4x4 post and then painted.
It wouldn't be hard to do, although I purchased it like this a few years back at a craft fair.
As you can see my summer flowers are still going strong!

See, I just noticed the plastic price tag hook is still attached...
We are keeping it real here today folks!!

This scarecrow I've had for a number of years too...he really needs a new shirt.

This ghost McG made for me and drilled holes along the outline so that I could put a string of lights in him.

That concludes the front yard tour...
I'm glad you stopped over - I hope you get out and enjoy this lovely autumn day!!

Fall Decorating - outdoor edition...

Okay...this week has been crazy around here...trying to get my outdoor decorating done for fall...
and catching up on laundry from McG's hunting trip last weekend.

Until I can get my yard decorated and photo-ed,
I thought I would share a couple of shots of last year's decorations.

I pulled these guys out of storage and put them in much the same spot as last year...

But I added a few new things that I will share next week!

Until then,
Hope you have a great weekend!
