Thrift Score Thursday...the Saturday Edition!

OK lovelies...I scored some great things this week that I'd like to share with you!

My BFF and I headed out Thursday morning for a day of thrifting out in Leamington Ontario...it's our preferred area of choice because we always seem to find some great deals out there.

First up is this great light up pumpkin tower that I found at the Value Village for $4.99.  I won't be putting it out until October but it will be a great addition to my fall front porch display.

Next are these two beautifully filled urns that I purchased for $7.99 each.

They will be a beautiful part of my Christmas holiday display.  Don't you just LOVE the colour and those pheasant feathers!

I'm thinking of adding a bit of teal blue to them as well.

I also found this great amber vase for $1.00 at the MCC Thrift store.

This last find was a FREEBIE that we picked up on the side of the road!!

She is STURDY and when she's cleaned up and given some new paint, she will be a great addition to the covered porch area in the backyard or she might even come inside as a chair for the spare bedroom.  I think Sloan would LOVE a new place to curl up for a nap and this might just be it!

That's it for this week's finds.  I'd love to see what you thrifted or picked up on the side of the road this week...be sure and share it with me!!

Thrifty Find...

I LOVE shopping at thrift stores, as I know many of you do!

Last week I found this pillow at a local Goodwill store.

It was a steal at only $3.00 and it really brightens up the corner in the family room.

I am always hesitant with stuff like this when buying secondhand.
I brought it home and sprayed it with sanitizer and popped it in the dryer for a little bit.

I am enjoying the pattern and brightness it brings to the room.

Have you found any thrifty items lately?
I'd LOVE to hear from you!

Thrifty Finds

Welcome to another Thrifty Finds post!

This weekend McG had a golf tournament for work, so I had the day to myself!  With a pocket full of money and a long list of yard sales to hit, I ventured out after driving our son to work.

I was very lucky this week, hitting a great neighbourhood sale first.  I love it when there are a large number of houses all in the same block with stuff to sell!

First up is a great down filled pillow in cream and navy and a large Tupperware bowl that was in mint condition - both just $2 each. Sloan felt the need to check out my finds too and photo-bomb my shot!

Next up - a fall pumpkin decor item (25 cents) and a notepad gift set ($3).

I picked up an artificial Christmas Tree and a cooler for McG - both just $5.  He's using artificial Christmas trees this year to cover his duck blind.  They were asking $10 for the tree but they gave it to me for $5!

Next a garden ornament and a white wire planter - each $2.

The planter looks lovely on my dining room table!

If you follow on Facebook, you got a sneak peek at this print earlier today - just $2.

And last, but not least, this wreath for $3.  It found an immediate home on the inside of my front door!

It was a great week for thrifty finds in my neck of the woods...did you get some thrifty finds this week??

I'd love to hear from you!

Thrifty Finds...

McG is away this weekend having some "guy" time with his brother, brother-in-law and cousin, so I took advantage of this weekend time alone to do something I love.   I love to travel the yard-sale circuit on Saturday mornings and I lucked out today as there were quite a few of sales today, including one that went on for ten blocks! I set out at 8 am because the early bird gets the worm as they say, and I wanted to get there while there was still some good stuff!!

Here are the treasures I found today - these lovely bookends for $2! They are about 5 inches tall and in great condition.

A clock for $3, the mirror was $4 and the wicket tray and the little sign were a buck!  I haven't gotten this lucky in a long time and was anxious to get home and find a place for my treasures.

The clock got cleaned up and found a home on the buffet in the dining room, along with the bookends and some green glass that I have been collecting from the local Value Village.  It is the year for green you know!  These little treasures were not more than $1 each and I've been finding them over the past few weeks.

The best deal of the day I have left for last.  Remember this planter I showed you last week - it had bamboo stakes in the middle that I am hoping my Morning Glories will grow up???

Well the bamboo stakes have been replaced by a large obelisk that I found at a yard sale today for $5.00!!!
That sucker is huge and weighs about 20 pounds...it got a quick spray of oil rubbed bronze spray paint and then off it went to its new home...

I think it was a fabulous day for yard sales - I got some great stuff and I didn't even spend $20 for the whole lot!!

Have you found any treasures lately?  I'd love to hear about them!
