Ok - I know that most bloggers have already had their fall decor up for sometime...but I am not one to rush these things. I like to take a slower approach, and let's face it - who wants to think about pumpkins and scarecrows when we still have 95 degree weather like today here in Ontario??
I did, however, take down my summer wreath from the front door.
In its place I added this...
This lovely flat tin "bucket" was one of my summer yard sales finds. I love its yellow, chippy, rusty colour.
I added $4.00 worth of flowers I purchased at my local Dollarama store. I chose orange and purple flowers along with some co-ordinating ribbons.
The colours give off the FALL vibe but are also bright enough to be seen well from the street.
I also LOVE how the colours POP OFF my blue front door.
Slowly but surely I will add more FALL touches to my home, however, most won't go up until October...that's when I kick it into high gear...so stay tuned!!
Do you have your FALL decorations up yet...or are you like me, and savouring the last days of summer?
Very pretty, Cheryl! I feel a bit behind on the Fall décor myself. I just made those two things for outside so far. I haven't even ventured up into the attic for my Fall bins to do the inside. With a "feels like" temp of 100 today, I think it will wait at least another week!
ReplyDeleteKathy - thanks for stopping by! The weather really is putting a damper on my fall decorating...hopefully this weekend when the weather gets cooler, I will feel like decorating for fall!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Cheryl! I love all the color!!! It's still very HOT here and it makes it hard to get in the fall mood!~~Angela
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the beautiful weather. Fall can wait. :D I love your chippy yellow tin bucket! What a great yard sale find. It looks beautiful with the fall flowers in it!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a gorgeous garden, I wish I had a green thumb.

Sounds like the heat is all over the hemisphere. We finally got a cooler breath but it's still warmer (80 Degrees today) than usual for this time of year for western CO. (We live about 20 miles west of Grand Junction, CO). It had been raining since last week but finally got a gorgeous cooler day today. At least we don't have horrible flooding like eastern side of Rockies.
ReplyDeleteI love your "door vase". I was wondering how my hubs could make one with couple of my metal ceiling like tiles. Hmmm. It's so pretty on your door, love your flower colors. I'm very much a Fall color person. Have hard time in Summer with pastels. I wear a great deal of fall colors also. Hope it cools off for you. Happy week
